Is pain a normal part of PCOS?

This might surprise you... but pain is not an associated symptom of PCOS.

But this does not mean that pain cannot occur in conjunction with PCOS.

Pain can occur due to underlying hormone imbalances, endometriosis, high inflammation, fibriods, ovarian cysts and more.

If you are struggling with pain and PCOS, remember the most important thing is to find out what is driving YOUR hormone imbalance.

There are so many ways to use herbal medicine and nutrition to allievate and fix period pain and also to address PCOS.

🤍How do you know if you are ovulating?🤍

You can always rely on your body to let you know what is going on and for ovulation there is no exception.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the best ways to predict that ovulation is about to occur is to assess your cervical mucus. Sound a bit gross? I promise you it is more interesting than anything else!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As you get closer to ovulation your cervical mucus becomes more egg white in consistancy (wetter, clearer and slippery consistancy). This is a sign that your estrogen is reaching a peak and may trigger the surge of LH which will trigger ovulation. BUT it is important to note that seeing this "fertile" mucus does not mean you have ovualted. In fact the body can even try to ovulate several times!

🤍So how do you know if you have actually ovulated?

One of the best ways to confirm you have actually ovulated is to track your basal body temperature. Once you see a sustained three day rise in body temperature this is a good sign you have ovulated. This rise will then likly be sustained throughout the luteal or second half of the cycle.

🤍What about ovulation sticks?

Ovulation sticks measure your LH, this again can be a good predictor that ovulation is about to happen but cannot always confirm it has happened. Mesauring your BBT is the best way to do this.

You can also confirm ovulation through blood tests and urine based hormone tests, but month to month BBT is much much easier! Want to know more about tracking your cycle? Send me a message.

Ovulation is the MAIN event in your cycle (yep it isnt in fact your period). Ovulation has an incredible number of health benefits even if you are not trying to get pregnant.
